This week’s episode is spring-like, because it is finally somewhat spring-like here in the Northeast.

So, there’s that.  But, I also bring you a special version of ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ blending the Original London Cast album with one of my favorite bands in The Afghan Whigs doing a few covers, too.

Whatever it is you’re celebrating – in my case, just being alive & the wide-scale availability of chocolate! – I wish you nothing but well.

Enjoy!

This is a pretty special show today.  My friends at “Vinyl Me, Please” – the monthly record club to which I belong – inspired me to bring you over an hour of sax music with having selected The Ben Webster Quintet record for vinyl of the month in December.  So, you’ll hear two cuts from that record, but you’ll also hear Coleman Hawkins, Lester Young, Sonny Rollins & more.

Also, we have selections from Once – The Musical.  Some tunes from the movie, too, as well as a special performance from Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova as “The Swell Season” with an 8th Grade choir backing them up on “Falling Slowly.”

But, we start with a special set of music for a special set of people – Ken & Carmen Corrigan.  I just call them Aunt Carmen & Uncle Ken.  February 6th 2015 was their 50th wedding anniversary.  They love Bobby Darin, so I open with him.

Enjoy!

PS: Below you’ll find the clip of the acceptance speech from Glen & Marketa when they won the Oscar for Best Original Song from “Once.”
